The Idea Furnace
One of the biggest challenges facing the regional industry right now isn’t capability, it’s visibility. We have manufacturers, researchers, startups, and specialists doing world-class work, but they can’t find each other. Industry looks overseas for suppliers that are already here. Startups can’t find the local partners they need. And the government is making investment decisions without a real-time view of the ecosystem.
The Idea Furnace is building a living intelligence platform that changes the status quo. We aim to map entire innovation and industry ecosystems, every visible key player, capability, and connection—in one searchable, visual platform. And we go further: our predictive AI forecasts skill shortages, emerging clusters, and supply chain risks 12 to 18 months ahead, so our community can plan together rather than react.
We’re not building this for the government or a University. We’re building it with regions in mind. We’re seeking founding industry partners, associations, and government agencies to join from the start.
Our Shared Roadmap — Built with Regional stakeholders, for regions
We’re building this in five stages, and we want our founding partners involved from the start:
- Stage 1 — Prototype (Jan–Mar 2026): An AI-powered prototype for creating industry capability directories and dashboards. We’re demonstrating what’s possible and inviting early partners to help shape the direction.
- Stage 2 — Validation (Sep–Oct 2026): Intensive co-design and testing with our three core user groups. Your feedback directly determines what gets built.
- Stage 3 — MVP (Nov–Dec 2026): A live, limited-functionality platform onboarding its first industry members.
- Stage 4 — Launch & Growth (Jan 2027): Full public launch across the Central Coast and Hunter Region with an enterprise and government AI dashboard. Open to the whole community.
